"Valley Fever"
Supernatural Suspense

A devastating earthquake that rocked Southern California turns Jill Cassidy’s life upside down, but the quake is nothing compared to what looms on the horizon.  Armed with determination and an incomplete graduate degree in geology, Jill embarks on a dangerous journey through a world of elves and monsters she had no idea existed.

Fae-prince Alden watched in horror as one of his own people released the Kolgardi, a hive intelligent race of monsters.  Now the ancient evil roams free, feeding on humans and gaining in strength.  Despite a judgment laid against him for a crime Alden didn’t commit, he is willing to risk execution to right the wrong and stop what awaits humanity.

Together, with a cynical reporter, Thomas Rainer, the unlikely trio stands together, determined to stop the Kolgardi.  Can they save mankind from extinction?

5*   Hold on for the fantasy ride of your life
"Wow just wow. Jill is a woman of strength. She finds her confidence in a word that the rest of the human race has forgotten exists. Thomas becomes an unlikely ally though I wasnt sure if he was just after the story of a lifetime or if he had other reasons. Alden and his nemesis are exactly what I envisioned the Fae would be. It is a grit your teeth thrill ride right to the end. Fantastically written blending suspense, fantasy, touches of angst relieving humor Valley Fever is one book you don't want to miss or put down. I was so impressed by this author, I'm purchasing her other books."

5*  CJ Bahr Cracks the Earth Opens
"Oh, the powerful female characters! I loved them so. No shrinking violets here. As for the lead male characters, loved them, too, be they "perfect" or flawed. They were all about charisma. The energy level of the novel never dropped, keeping me on edge as to what would happen next. Bring on the brains. Bring on the bravado. Bring on the elves! You go, CJ Bahr! Can't wait to read your next novel."
Valley Fever
5* Gripping from the first chapter! I wish I could ...
"Gripping from the first chapter! I wish I could give this book ten stars! As a geology and earthquake nut, Valley Fever hooked me from the beginning and never let go. I am an avid reader of Fantasy and Paranormal genres, so I was pleasantly surprised by its original and a totally new take on the Fey. I recently read this book while on a trip to SoCal, so the theme and timing were appropriate. Sprinkle in some well-developed characters ( Jill, Alden, Thomas, and Kyran), the Fey, the Kolgardi, suspense and jaw-dropping twists and turns—this book was a stunner. I look forward to reading more from C.J. Bahr."
Valley Fever
5* I couldn't put it down! Humans, Fae and Valley Fever - oh my!
"What a great book! It's a page turner, so hard to put down. The story of Jill, Thomas and elven Alden facing the dangers of the released evil and a rebellion of the Fae in current greater Southern California moved at a great pace. The characters were rich and rounded, easy to relate to and I found myself anxious to find out what would happen. The setting was well described, the science background added a nice touch and the cultural references made it seem so real and make it easy to wrap yourself into the story. The story has a nice closure and I cannot wait to see another installment in the relationship of these humans and Fae. C J Bahr is an excellent writer with a great future in two wonderful "worlds." I highly recommend you also investigate her other novels!"

***** A Bawdy Romp Through Time
Sassy heroines? Sarcastic highwaymen? A nail biting adventure to save the world? I'm in. And boy can C J Bahr write. I think if you're gonna do a historical adventure romance, which is basically what this is, then you'd better be able to a) get your history right enough so it's not distracting, be able to do a good chase scene and a good fight scene and do good sexual tension. Check! Check! and Check! Romance and history are two genres I just don't read (I got suckered into this by the fantasy/time travelly elements to the write up) and I didn't regret a minute of it. I didn't realize that it was book 2 in a series until I'd finished and that didn't matter either.
Brilliant fun!

Book Review Directory
"Readers who like a pseudo-historical tale with paranormal dealings of angels, demons, highwaymen, and feisty females will enjoy this fast-paced adventure.  Beth is a strong woman, saving Kit as much as he saves her, and the romance is sweet and spicy with plenty of interaction to vary things up."

Walking Through Fire
 Five Stars
This is a pretty amazing story and I'm really happy to have discovered this author.

Walking Through Fire
 Stunning debut novel
A fast-moving, attention-grabbing book, Walking Through Fire is a brilliant debut novel that didn't let me stop, even for a moment. The author's 'voice' has a uniqueness and confidence exciting in a first novel, and the characters feel vividly human. It almost instantly caught me up in the story, and the pace moved along quickly enough that I never found a moment to take a break from reading.
Between the entirely relatable main characters, and just enough attention to environmental detail, I felt immersed and connected. By the time I was halfway through, I felt a vested interest in seeing things turn out for the best; I celebrated and mourned right along with people in the story. By the end, I felt as if I'd been part of the story all along, that I was present for the events, rather than reading them in words.

 Walking Through Fire
 WOW!
Five stars of pure goodness. This was a richly written story that deftly handled the passages requiring a return to the past, and had adventure and excitement on every level, past and present. I adored the characters, but most especially Laurel and Simon. They were destined for each other. Ms. Bahr is definitely an author to be watched. I know I'll be waiting impatiently for her next one.

 Walking Through Fire
This is a GREAT debut book
This is a GREAT debut book! The story is original and the characters are realistic. I found it hard to put down! I hope there will be a sequel.
