Character Interview:  Simon MacKay

Today I’m interviewing Simon, the soon-to-be hero of Walking Through Fire.  Simon lived an interesting life.  He was born in Scotland in 1784 and died when he was twenty-five.  Since then, he’s been a ghost haunting his Highland Manor for a little over two hundred years.
Paranormal Life:  Welcome, Simon.  Please let me extend my condolences on your tragic passing.  I hope you find peace soon.

Simon MacKay:  Aye, well, I’m working on that…for a while…

PL:  Don’t worry.  I’m sure your time is coming soon.  I hope this lighthearted interview will send some cheer your way.   I won’t be asking typical questions.  I’m shaking things up and going all James Lipton on you--

SM:  James, who?

B:  Oh right, you probably don’t watch much television.  James Lipton is a man known for interviewing actors with irreverent questions on Inside The Actor’s Studio.  No worries, just say the first things that pop into your head.

SM:  All right.  Fire away.

PL:  What’s your favorite curse word?

SM:  Bloody Bastard.

PL:  If you had a free day with no responsibilities and your only mission was to enjoy yourself, what would you do?

SM:  I don’t think I ever had a day without responsibilities…I’d…relax?  Go for a ride, read a book.  Learn to cook.

PL:  Are you lucky?

SM:  No. <scowls> I’m cursed, aye?

PL:  Tell me about your best friend.

SM:  <grins> Byron and Dougal Sinclair, twins.  They lived on the property bordering mine.  We grew up together.  Great mates.  We were constantly getting in trouble together.

PL:  Describe your ideal date.

SM:  Anything.  As long as it was with the woman I love.

PL:  If you could spend the day with someone you admire (living, dead, or imaginary), who would you pick?

SM:  My da, Murdoc MacKay.  I’d ask him why the hell I’m still here.

PL:  What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

 SM:  Lifeguard.

PL:  If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

 SM:  You’re forgiven.

PL:  And finally, what motto do you live your life by?

 SM:  Bi Tren.
